How to Measure a Man
Chest: Measure just under the arms and across the shoulder blades, hold the tape level and snug.
Waist: Bend slightly to one side, the crease is where your natural waistline is. Measure around your natural waistline.
Inseam: Take a pair of pants that fit well, lay them down flat. Measure along the inseam from crotch to bottom of the leg hem.
Neck: Take a shirt with a collar that fits you well, lay it down flat. Measure from the center of the collar button to the far end of the opposite button hole.
How to Measure a Woman
Bust/Chest: Measure around the chest at the fullest point of the bust.
Waist: Bend slightly to one side, the crease is where your natural waistline is. Measure around your natural waistline.
Hip: Measure around the fullest point of seat while standing.
Inseam: Take a pair of pants that fit well, lay them down flat. Measure along the inseam from crotch to bottom of the leg hem.
Neck: Take a shirt with a collar that fits you well, lay it down flat. Measure from the center of the collar button to the far end of the opposite button hole.
How to Measure a Child
Height: Have the child stand in front of a wall. Mark the top of the head and then measure a straight line to the floor.
Chest: Have the child hold their arms out. Wrap tape measure around the fullest part of the chest. Make sure to keep the tape measure level and snug.
Waist: Have the child bend to one side. Where the waist flexes naturally measure from that point keeping the tape level.
Hip: Have the child stand like a tall with their feet together. Measure a level line around the fullest part of the hips and seat.
Inseam: Take a pair of pants that fit your child well and lay them down flat. Measure along the inseam from crotch to leg opening.
